Great clock.

Comment:
Pretty easy to set up, although I had to go outside to get a signal, but flawless ever since (it's inside now and gets a signal fine). Updated instantly for daylight savings time. Small clock but display is crisp and visible from a good distance without any kind of glow from the screen. Overall I'm pretty happy with it and would buy another.

I returned two of these La Crosse Technology WT-8005U-B Atomic Digital Wall Clocks bought from acehardwareoutlet through Amazon. Neither clock would set itself anywhere in my house. I own two Casio WaveCeptor watches using the same setting system that work just fine everywhere in my house. The seller, acehardwareoutlet, refused to offer relief on any of my shipping costs, and increased the pain further by imposing a restocking fee. Under the circumstances, these actions on the part of the seller were rude and certainly not right.

Everything on the clock works just as advertised. I only encountered a minor hitch when I first got it. I seemed to have trouble getting a radio signal when I was manually trying to get it to lock immediately after unpacking. I took it to windows, different unobstructed locations, etc. but it just didnt want to lock. I gave up, set it on the mantle on an interior wall and the next morning it had autolocked (it does it every 1am I believe) and everything was great. Ive never had any issue with the radio lock since that time. It handled daylight savings time without a hitch, and the thermometer has been spot on.

Happy with Atom Clock

Comment:
First time to have a Atomic Clock. I have this clock for about four weeks now, and everything is working perfect. To start with I had to press the re-set button twice before it found the satellite signal, and set the time itself. We all were amazed. All you have to do is set the time zone and it does the rest. The numbers are large and easy to read, and it tells you the date automatically from the satellite signal as well. It even automatically changed to daylight savings time. The thermometer for the room temperature is a nice added extra. I wish it had a back light so I could see it in dark, but I guess then the batteries won't last 2yrs as they say. Best price and service from Amazon.

No signal and inconvenient alarm
|
Comment:
This atomic clock could not find the satellite signal from my room. In the product description it should mention what might prevent the signal from reaching so I would have known ahead of time that my cinder block room blocked the signal.
Also, for a wall-mounted clock, the alarm buttons (such as setting it, snoozing, and turning it off) are inconveniently located on the back. If it were mounted, which I had intended to do with it, you'd have to take it off the wall every morning and night.
