After waiting a very long time to receive this to give as a gift which is now very belated, this clock finally arrived tonight. To say this clock looks like garbage is too much of a compliment. The hands arrived broken and floating around the clock, plus the background of the clock is just a drawn piece of paper, not slate. The paint job looks cheap as well. The only plus I can offer is that the clock is a nice large size. I've already printed my return shipping label and will be taking it to the post office tomorrow! What a waste of time (literally & figuratively!).

I see no problem with the clock/thermometer. The back does, indeed, come off by removing a half dozen or so metal clips if you should need to clean the glass, which I did.
