Love those dragonflys

Comment:
This dragonfly thermometer clock hangs proudly outside by our swimming pool. The quality is excellent and the design is attractive. We have gone through many different clocks that didn't live up to its standards and were very pricy. This clock was very reasonably priced and proved to be a better product than all the others we had owned. We are very satisfied and highly recomend this product.

Clock Hands Kept Catching On Each Other
|
Comment:
Kool looking and durable finish BUT... From very start clock hands kept catching and hooking together on each other. No amount of "fooling" with them would prevent further hung clock hands. After one year I decided to fool with the hands again. Installed new battery (cleaned contacts) but the clock portion did not function. After enjoying only the decorating feature of the clock for three years the hands fell off, down into "wild area", heavy vines, below elevated deck AND I don't want to go look for them.
The thermometer has always worked and continues to do so. BUT it is so small one can hardly tell what the temp is further than 10 ft from it. Thermometer is also accurate because I have four total thermometers on my large deck (one is digital)to compare readings.
The finish is just as nice as when new. It is, though, in shade most of day but under trees that weep fluids and near a bunch of bird feeders.
I'm going to purchase a small replacement clock and hands as I do like the looks of this clock.
I would not recommend this to friends to purchase unless they are willing to tinker with the clock and hands.
#####UPDATE##### (Would now give 2 Stars)
SUPER BIG DUH
I just removed the old battery ...... I had it in backwards .....
I've placed a small piece of tap on each holder for each hand AND the movement is working well... Hour, Second, Sweep (clock did no come with sweep hand)
In process now of ordering sturdier hands from external site. Clock hands are very inexpensive.
BTW... the plastic cover that fits on back of movement (standard size cover for most quartz movements) has kept the elements and bugs out very well. I, also, was surprised that there was no corrosion on battery elements even after same battery inserted for over a year. This may be due to battery being placed in backwards.
