These are good thermomters tell you how to calibrate them. take a tiny flathead screwdriver and put it in a small slot in the back of thermomter then trun the pointer. or take the glass off then use your 2 fingers to trun the pointer back to 20 degrees do not let the pointer go then trun back to 80degrees stop do not let the pointer go slow back till it stops its now calibrated. also thermomter has to be face up when you trun it with your fingers . Chaney Instrument 6 Inch Brass Finish Thermometer With BracketGreat size for reading from indoors. Easy to install. Poor performance. I checked accuracy against three other thermometers. The Chaney thermometer was 8 to 9 degrees off. This was too much for practical use.
