Receive consistently accurate temperature readings from the comfort of your back lawn with the Timex TX3000-2 patio thermometer. Boasting a stylish all-weather molded copper case, the 11.06-inch-diameter thermometer stands up to rain, wind, and sun from its wall-mounted location, so you needn't worry about shielding it under a roof overhang or other covering. More significantly, it measures the temperature from -20 all the way up to 120 degrees F--with an alternate scale in Celsius--so you can instantly gauge whether to bring the plants inside during a cold spell or give the lawn a little extra water. And thanks to the bold, easy-to-read dial and UV-protected, fade-resistant inks, it's a breeze to determine the temperature from a distance. Also outfitted with a protective clear glass lens, the TX3000-2 is backed by a two-year limited warranty.

Timex clock - not very accurate
    Comment:
This is an attractive clock, especially for the price; but the indicated temperature was about 3 degrees off compared to one digital and one analog thermomometer I also have, which I believe to be accurate. The good thing is that you can take this clock apart with 4 screws, pull the needle off, then re-index the needle more accurately. Now it's probably good within a degree or two across the normal range. Don't just assume this thing will have the accurate temperature "out the box."

       A basic low cost thermometer
    Comment:
We have only had the thermometer a month so it is really too soon to say. How will it hold up under hot conditions? How will the color hold up? Will the dial face peel? All these questions will take time to answer.

I can say that the thermometer looks good. It is not fancy at all. No bells & whistles. The plastic frame/base seems sturdy. I like the fact that the dial is covered in a very clear glass, and not plastic which might craze or cloud up. The dial print is clear from a diswtance of about 20 feet. Much further than that and it might become challenging to read for these 50 year old eyes. It seems to be accurate, or accurate enough for our purposes.

All in all a good, basic, general purpose, low cost outdoor thermometer.

    Comment:
This thermometer looks great but does not work. Oh, it might tell you the temp if you have hours to wait on it. When I first started using it I thought that it was broken because it didn't change. I held a hair dryer to the back of it and it moved. If you were to say, bring it in the house from being outside in 90 degree temperatures and your room was 72, it would take it 2-3 hours to start moving down. A snail moves at lightning speed compared to this thing!

       Not so hot
    Comment:
While the Timex patio thermometer looks elegant, the analogue readout is inaccurate. It registers 86 degrees most of the time, even though it is sitting in the sun when the outside temperature is about 95. I really can't recommend this product.
