Comment:
My husband got this as a gift, it worked at first and we liked the features. But a couple of months later we had to reset it, which by the way is a real hassle. You have to open the outside unit and unscrew some very very tiny screws which you need a special screw driver for, (not included) reset it, and put it all back together again. And then another month goes by and you have to do it again. After about 6 months the only part that was working any more was the inside temperature. The outside readings no longer worked even after resetting it repeatedly and removing the batteries and retrying. We gave up and bought a different one. Don't get this one!

Good rain gauge for the price!

Seems to be very accurate, and was much easier to 'squirrel proof' than a previous one that was destroyed in a hail storm. My husband did have to make a platform to put it on, as it was too wide to set on top of fence. I would purchase this again.

Works great. The batteries are a pain to put in/replace, but that is a small thing to complain about.

Have enjoyed this rain gauge so much I sent on as a gift, too. I have a little trouble setting the different clocks and alarmes, and clearing the rain total. But it is a nice way to keep up on the weather.

Comment:
I ordered this unit to replace an older Oregon Scientific wireless rain gauge that had a bad sending unit (coffee can). The older model worked flawlessly for about 4 years in the Florida tropics. This new model works great and as a bonus, I was able to also use the old display since the new sending unit is compatible with both new and old digital displays. I had a problems at first until I realized I needed to remove the batteries from my old defective sending unit (it was sending a signal that blocked the newer sending unit). I only wish we could get more rain here in central Florida.
