Product Description Monitor temperatures with this easy-to read wireless temperature station from industry leader, La Crosse Technology. The temperature station comprises of a receiver and a sensor to communicate outdoor temperatures, allowing users to plan appropriately for weather conditions. The receiver also informs the user of the indoor climate for energy efficiency and maximum comfort. The temperature station receiver features a digital screen with a quartz clock. Relayed information includes the time, date, indoor and outdoor temperatures, and the minimum and maximum temperature recordings with a time stamp. The user selects either Fahrenheit or Celsius temperature display. Time of day can be viewed in 12- or 24- hour formats. For outdoor conditions, a TX6U sensor transmits information to the receiver from up to 80 feet at a 433.92MHz frequency. Transmission through walls reduces this range. While the sensor fares well in fog or mist, shelter it to prevent rain damage. The temperature system measures temperatures ranging from +32 to +140 degrees F. The outdoor sensor registers temperatures ranging from -21.8 to +157.2 degrees F. With a radio-controlled time and date function, the temperature station automatically updates for Daylight Savings Time or travel to a new time zone. The temperature station hangs or can stand upright on a tabletop. The outdoor sensor comes with a mounting hardware. Two AAA alkaline batteries power the receiver, while two AA alkaline batteries run the sensor. Batteries are separately purchased and should be replaced annually. The temperature station accommodates up to three outdoor sensors. This product is covered under a limited warranty. The base monitor measures 5.1 by 2.47 inches with a 1-inch depth. The sensor is approximately 5 by 1.5 by 4/5 inches. This item weighs 7 ounces upon shipping. --Jessica Reuling

Comment:
I bought this temp station thinking it showed the inside and outside temp at the same time. It doesn't. It will cycle through giving the outside temp, then the inside temp and humidity. I don't care for it, but I do use it. I have 5 different temp stations in my home. This is my least favorite.

Comment:
After buying one for a friend, I bought two for myself - one for home and one for work. The setup is simple and performance is great. When mounting the outdoor sensor, avoid using the adhesive pads to stick the cradle to the side of a buidling. Instead, mount the sensor cradle with screws and half inch spacers between the surface and sensor cradle to allow maximum airflow around the back of the sensor. This minimizes the effect of attaching the unit directly to a building surface. I found that this can significantly improve the accuracy of the reading and make the unit more responsive to outside air temperature changes. Also, be sure to mount the sensor so that it is never exposed to direct sunlight, which can boost the reading by as much as 10 degrees.

Haven't had much luck with wireless temperature units. This one isn't any better. Batteries do not last long; usually about 2 weeks.
