When is a clock not just a clock? When it provides so much more than just the time: temperature, time accuracy within one second per year, and a weather forecast, for example. This handsome wall clock, with its dual LCD screens and black-accented cherry finish, is an example of household life being enhanced by science. The WS-8157U-CH can hang on the wall or stand freely, with a built-in, fold-out stand. Radio-controlled time (to the hour, minute, and second) and date are prominently displayed, along with indoor and outdoor temperatures measured in either Fahrenheit or Celsius. The day of the week can be displayed in English, French, Spanish or German.

Time can be displayed in 12- or 24-hour modes, and time zones from Greenwich Mean Time to -12 GMT can be selected, with three-letter identifications for US time zones. An alarm feature is useful as a timer, and, if the clock happens to hang or stand near a bed (or a couch that's used for napping), a snooze feature allows for gradual wake-up. The weather forecast, estimated to be 75% accurate, is based on change in air pressure over time. Three icons--a sun, a sun with clouds, or two rain clouds--indicate imminent changes in the weather. And there are two weather tendency arrows as well, indicating changes in air pressure.

The clock comes with La Crosse transmitter TX37U-TI. Clock and transmitter each operate on two AA batteries. For options in wall mounting, three screws and screw anchors and a strong adhesive tape are included. The WS-8157U-CH-IT measures 12-1/4 by 8 by 1-1/4 inches. La Crosse provides a one-year limited warranty on its clocks. Each clock comes with a thoroughly detailed instruction booklet. --Garland Withers

Not bright enough to read!

I purchased this wall clock to replace an LED clock that took a power surge and died. I really like the overall look of the this clock and it was very easy to set up. The only problem is that the led lights aren't bright enough! I had it hanging on a wall about 20 feet from my couch and the only thing that I could read was the time, not any of the other features and this was in the middle of the day! I ended up taking it down off of the wall and placing it on the mantle because there is a light above it so now I can see all the displays. If I would have known that this clock was going to end up on the mantle, I would have purchased something that resembled a mantle clock. Unless this is going in a super bright room, I'd look elsewhere.

Bought this model because my older one wouldn't adjust to time changes on its own + digital temp went blank.
I carefully followed instructions on this one to be sure. It was simpler than expected.
The clock almost set itself. I've double checked the temp with my old style thermometer & it is right on the money. We like the forecast indicators as often in the fall we are getting ready in the dark & aren't sure what the weather is going to be. We certainly can't trust the meteorologist's on TV. The clock has been right 100% of time so far. Maybe it could replace our weather man/woman.

Comment: This digital clock it's so amazing work very good & you need just a 4 double AA batteries, 2 for the clock and 2 for the outside forecast sensor... make the set up and set the sensor outside the room in an open area... include the indoor forecast too... I don't have to check the Weather forecast anymore.
