When is a clock not just a clock? When it provides so much more than just the time: temperature, phase of the moon, and accuracy within one second per year, for example. This handsome wall clock, with its dual LCD screens and black-accented oak finish, is an example of household life being enhanced by science. The WS-8117U can hang on the wall or stand freely, with a built-in, fold-out stand. Radio-controlled time (to the hour, minute, and second) and date are prominently displayed, along with indoor and outdoor temperatures measured in either Fahrenheit or Celsius. The day of the week can be displayed in English, French, Spanish or German.

Time can be displayed in 12- or 24-hour modes, and time zones from Greenwich Mean Time to -12 GMT can be selected, with three-letter identifications for US time zones. An alarm feature is useful as a timer, and, if the clock happens to hang or stand near a bed (or a couch that's used for napping), a snooze feature allows for gradual wake-up. Moon phase shows in twelve increments, from new moon, through gibbous and crescent phases (waxing and waning), to quarter and finally full moon.

The clock comes with La Crosse transmitter TX37U-IT. Clock and transmitter each operate on two AA batteries. For options in wall mounting, three screws and screw anchors and a strong adhesive tape are included. The WS-8117U measures 12-1/4 by 8 by 1-1/4 inches. LaCrosse Atomic Clock

This is not my first atomic clock. I am in the process of trying to change all of my clocks to atomic. This is a replacement for a former Skyscan atomic clock in my kitchen in which the outdoor sensor was bad. It was cheaper to buy the entire new clock, plus the Skyscan brand has shown to have problems on the one's I have previously owned. I love the outdoor sensor/display. This is a very nice looking clock. Once I installed the batteries, the clock set within 1 hour. So far I am very happy with this purchase.

Comment: I have a La Crosse Atomic Wall Clock, and now my 4 adult children all have one also. It keeps excellent time and I love the indoor/outdoor temperature feature,the day and date, and the phases of the moon. I highly recommend this clock!

I have always liked having an atomic clock in the house as to have an dependable accurate clock. I bought this to replace one that did not do with the decor in the kitchen. My wife likes it now because it goes with the cabinets and looks good in the kitchen. I like the function and dependability and am very impressed with the range of the outdoor temperature sensor. I place the temperature sensor under the eves on the garage which is about 100 feet away. It has never failed to show the accurate time or outdoor temperature. My experience is that this is a quality product that looks good in the kitchen.

I hate these people

I got WS-8117U-IT and like an idiot assumed it would perform as advertised and separated the packing material from the product and tossed said material.

Long story short I have tried repeatedly to get the stupid thing to set itself using brand new batteries and following the directions diligently only to have it refuse to do as it said it would do. I have no recourse since I tossed the original packing so I'm out my money.

I'm going to try calling them tomorrow but my hopes aren't very high

Comment: Nice clock - as others have said: Easy to set up, easy to hang, find a place outside for the remote and you're good to go! I have mine between the screen and sliding glass door of the sunroom. Lots of display info with day/date and the moon phase is a neat touch.
