  • Product Description
This versatile system forecasts local weather; automatically sets and updates the time, day, and date; keeps track of the indoor temperature; and employs a remote, wireless sensor to record the outdoor temperature up to 100 feet away. For forecasting weather within 12 to 24 hours, the 6-1/4-by-4-1/4-inch monitor employs a built-in electronic barometric-pressure sensor and then displays the upcoming weather with an icon (sunny, partly sunny, cloudy, rain/snow) on its backlit LCD screen. For keeping track of time, the monitor is equipped with a radio receiver tuned to the U.S. atomic clock; this enables the monitor to maintain split-second accuracy by automatically adjusting, if necessary, to the atomic clock's signals six times every 24 hours. From those signals, the monitor also displays the date, the day, and the time zone for which the user has set the clock. Also, the clock automatically adjusts for daylight saving time and for leap year. The monitor beams the time and the outdoor temperature onto a wall or ceiling in large, red numerals for easy readability. If the monitor is in battery-mode (four AA batteries included), pressing the clock's snooze bar will beam the data for five seconds. If the monitor is plugged into a wall socket with an AC adapter (included), the projection will be available either for five seconds with the snooze bar or continuously if a continuous-beam control is set. The projection beam comes from a device mounted next to the clock. The device pivots so the beam can be projected onto any surface, and a dial focuses the beam for clarity. You can also choose to have the temperature displayed in either Celsius or Fahrenheit. --Fred Brack

       Projection Clock
    Comment:
This clock actually exceeded expectations. We previously had a projection clock for the bedroom that finally gave out. This model has larger, easier to read numbers at night overhead. If you never had a projection clock, you'll be spoiled forever. In addition, if the temperature display is too depressing, you instantly know to pull the covers up over your head longer. Love atomic clock accurate time.

    Comment:
Great at night when you can see the time and outside temperature displayed on the ceiling. Almost impossible to see during the day or when the lights are on. You have to press the snooze bar to make the time/temp viewable.

       BATTERIES
    Comment:
I have terrible vision (near sighted -4.75 contacts)and always had to reach for my glasses at night to see what time it was. You can adjust the arm of this clock to make the display as big as you need it. No need to reach for glasses anymore. The cons to this clock are that there is no radio, just the increasing beep (which we've gotten used to). I'm very disappointed that even though it plugs in, the clock runs on BATTERIES. The plug is only for the projection (which I didn't notice in the reviews until after we bought it). Overall, the clock is fine, but I'll still need to hold on to the old one as a back up. Wouldn't want to be late for work :-)

       All I expected
    Comment:
I have wanted something like this since I saw Tom Cruise (Mr. Cool) use it in a movie over a decade ago.
For someone losing their close-up vision and interested in the outside temperature, you've found one cool gadget.
Some complain about using a battery.... big deal. You plug in the power cord and the projection works like a dream which can be adjusted and focused about anywhere in the room. We DEFINITELY recommend! Enjoy
