Product Description This title is suitable for the age group - Baby to pre-school. When the song about Frosty the Snowman was introduced in 1950 sung by Gene Autry, it became an instant hit. Since then, its popularity has increased every year and making Frosty one of the most recognised and beloved characters ever produced. Now, this bouncy happy tune can be found inside this sturdy board book and is accompanied with the bright artwork created by Rebecca Thornburgh. Once the book is opened, Frosty does indeed come to life with the lively tinkling tune. The song plays only once each time the book is opened, a fact that parents will appreciate. Children and their parents are encouraged to sing along as well as read the text. This combination of book and tune will practically leap off the shelves.

Why does every musical book have to play the tune so FAST?

Comment:
I got this book because my daughter loves the Frosty song (not really the show, just the song). I thought it would be fun to be able to have a book playing the music while I read the words. Well, it WOULD be fun if it were humanly possible to read that fast. If I tried to follow the tune, I was turning pages like a maniac and tripping over my words---doesn't exactly lead to a successful reading aloud session.
When my daughter looked at the book on her own, she enjoyed it, but kept opening and closing the book to get the song to start again. I guess I realized that books like this might be a good idea in concept, but not in reality.
The pictures are cute, but someone you keep looking for the little girl from the video. And when we are told not to cry by Frosty, everyone looks so happy and cheery that it would be very hard to figure out for a kid why they would ever think of crying---I guess the idea of Frosty melting is too sad for today's kids.
Not a bad book, but I think I'll buy the video or tape it, and we will watch in this case instead of read---a rare case where reading is not the best media for a story!

Comment:
This is an awesome book and plays Frosty the Snowman music as the child reads. Only 4 stars as the book was dented a bit on the cover, but it didn't effect the music, just looked used.

Comment:
My son is 2 and adores this book. He will listen to me sing the story over 4 times in one sitting.
Although the music is fast paced, it has the tune perfectly, and the entire song is illustrated with just a few lines per page.
The book is well built for the toddler crowd, and we LOVE it.
