This is a great alternative to the you-have-to-be-an-expert cult of BBQ cooking and many of the cookbooks of the same ilk with which this book competes. If you take the direction of the authors it is often possible to make a remarkable dish with little effort and less than six ingredients. They take themselves and their subject just seriously enough, but not enough to make you feel like you are gambling on an uncertain outcome. Their sense of humor and the war stories are both engaging. This book offers restaurant-quality results with so little effort, it is amazing.

The BBQ in this book is fantastic. I jumped in with both feet and have made numerous recipes, all of which have been delicious. You will not be disappointed.
The authors are very clear and informative and I have learned a lot about meat preparation and liquid smoke.

Okay, so, my confession is that I don't cook. However, my wife is a great cook and loves to try new things. The trouble is that most cookbooks have super long ingredient lists, hard to find ingredients and take forever to prepare and cook. This just doesn't work for two busy parents with a two year old.
That's where this book is the best. Every recipe is easy to follow, the ingredients are practical and many of the meals are made in the crock pot so you can have a life while it cooks. Buy this book. You won't regret it.
